Slip’n'Slide
Those of you in Seattle know that this has been a pathetic summer so far. With the temperature pretty much refusing to break 60 all of June, let alone touch 70, the griping and complaining around town was pretty much the standard interaction between strangers.
Of course, as the statisticians like to say, regression to the mean was inevitable. Hence, after July 4th’s gray and 50s fireworks show was over, the sun came on with a vengeance. It’s been 90 degrees most of this week, and for Seattleites, that’s hot! Especially since most places don’t have AC, and we’re accustomed to 50 or 60 degrees most of the year.
So what are three hot souls to do when the mercury cracks 90 and you have a big backyard? Bust out the slip’n'slide, of course! Kelly and Ian brought it to us as a housewarming gift *. Thanks guys! Best cool down plan around.
* It’s actually a “Soak’n'Splash”. I love these knock off branded products. I’ve always appreciated that the Oreos knockoff brand, Hydrox, really doesn’t sound anything like a cookie. What would have been really fun, to celebrate the fact they’re ripping off a famous cookie, would be to have called them Whore-E-Os. But I digress. On with the show!

Ha! I love this flick! Let me know when the weather heats up again and you’re ready to crack out the soak n slide – almost worth a flight from Oz!
